In 2006, while managing several million dollars in paid search budgets, I was offered the opportunity to participate in the Yahoo Search Marketing Strategic Ambassador Program.

Yahoo Search Marketing describes the Strategic Ambassador Program as:

“Our most elite Search Marketing experts manage big budgets and develop in-depth search strategies to support major brands and direct marketers. They’ve been certified in all applicable Search Marketing products: Sponsored Search, Search Submit, Product Submit and Travel Submit.”

During the course of preparing for and testing for the Yahoo Search Marketing Strategic Ambassador certification, I discovered many new offerings that Yahoo Search Marketing had to offer, including several that I implemented for my clients soon after becoming certified in them. One important search marketing channel that I became more familiar with during this certification was Yahoo Product Submit, which allowed me to assist several retail clients in reducing their overall cost per sale while driving additional sales through their existing sites.
